General Equipment Guyana Ltd (GENEQUIP) and MatPal Marine Institute Inc.(MPMI) expressed a mutual interest to establish a partnership where both companies entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday, 7th August 2019 at the Genequip new dealership facility at the Houston Industrial Site.
Genequip is a duly registered company in Guyana that offers Training, Engineering, Procurement and Consultancy Services. Over the years, Genequip grew from providing machinery for the agricultural and construction sector to providing mining, power generation, material handling equipment and most recently, marine equipment.
In maintaining a constant commitment to the Guyanese population, Genequip also provides leadership, empowerment and respect to ensure that, as a community, it achieves excellence through passion, consistency and collaboration.
The MOU signaled the mutual interest of Genequip and MatPal Marine,
working jointly with the aim of advancing and improving maritime training and certification within Guyana. This partnership also paved the way for shared resources and direct access to practical demonstrations and training facilitated by Genequip.
MatPal Marine Institute Inc.is Guyana’s first maritime education and training institute, that provides STCW International training as well as, local deck and engine room and Coast Guard safety training in Guyana.
The Institute has successfully trained numerous crewmembers associated within the maritime industry of Guyana and around the Caribbean and has earned a reputation for excellence in the delivery of its services.
