MatPal Marine Institute Inc.(MPMI) in positioning the Institute to meet the challenges of the dynamic Maritime and Oil and Gas Industry have appointed two new Members to the Board of Advisors, namely – Ms. Lyndell Danzie-Black and Ms. Michelle A. Nicholas. The nineteen 19-year MatPal Marine Institute Inc.continues to stay committed to ‘Promoting Excellence Through Maritime Training’ and is anxiously anticipating strategic direction from our Advisory Board. Lyndell Danzie-Black is the Managing Director of Cerulean Inc. – a Business Development, Training and Consulting firm based in Guyana. Lyndell was selected as one of 20 global women in the Women Leader for the World (WLW) program, a highly competitive 12-month Global Women Leadership Network program. Cerulean Inc. collaborates various industry partners such as ExxonMobil through their Corporate Citizenship program in the implementation of the Mainstay Community Empowerment. Recently Cerulean Inc. collaborated with Unicomer (Courts Guyana) Ltd in implementing the Women Empowerment Program – an entrepreneurial programme for women in Guyana. Ms. Danzie-Black was also the Program Director Youth Build International to implement the YouthBiz 592 pilot project in Guyana.
A thought leader and experienced Business Development and Training Specialist with 20+ years of administrative, project management, strategy, standards and policy development; she holds a Master’s Degree in Maritime Transport from the prestigious World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. Ms. Danzie-Black also holds a BA (Hons) Degree Tourism Management from the London South Bank University.
Michelle A. Nicholas is the Founder and CEO of The Nico Consulting, Inc (TNC), a consulting firm that provides strategy operations, marketing and communications and leadership development services to a variety of clients, nationally and internationally. Ms. Nicholas is also the Executive Director of Girls Inc. Executive Director of Girls Inc. Westchester, a global organization that works to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
Ms. Nicholas who has served on the Board of the American Caribbean Maritime Foundation (ACMF), is an award-winning out-of-the-box thinker. Her work on bridging the gap between available resources and those who need them, building strategic partnerships and realizing innovative marketing opportunities has created several recognized sustainable partnerships. Ms. Nicholas has served in various roles throughout her career including at Family Services of Westchester, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, U.S. Fund for UNICEF, Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation and the Government of Guyana’s Ministry of Foreign Trade.
